European Logistics Association

ELA – European Logistics Association is an international management association incorporated under Belgian law with head office located in Brussels. ELA members are 30 national professional associations located in the EU and neighbouring countries. Through its network, ELA reaches about 55.000 professionals active in logistics and Supply Chain Management. ELA key activities are, first and most important the ELA certification of competencies and the underlying ELAQF, a skill descriptor describing skills and competencies of Logistics and SCM managers fully compliant with the European Qualification Network. ELA assess the skills and competence of individual logistics professionals and grants accreditation to Bachelor and Master’s degree courses focussing on Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The whole design, maintenance and certification activities associated with the ELAQF are carried out by ECBL (European Certification Board for Logistics), a specialized team within the ELA organization. Most important of all, ELA provides a platform for Logistics and SCM professionals working in retail, manufacturing and service companies as well as consultants, researchers and academics to meet, to share ideas and practices thus facilitating the innovation and competitiveness of European businesses. ELA organizes the European Supply Chain Day (https://www.tag-der-logistik.de/en), in which companies are invited to host schools, universities and the general public to show their logistics plants.

Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME)

Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) is a Hungarian state university; its direct predecessor was established in 1782. BME has eight faculties: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Chemical Technology and Biotechnology, Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Transportation and Vehicle Engineering, Natural Sciences, Economic and Social Sciences. The number of students is more than 21800, the ratio of foreign students is 12 %, number of PhD students is around 801 and the number of full-time teaching staff is 1232. Regarding the number of projects (61) funded by the EU H2020 program in years, 2014-20 BME is the leading Hungarian university. At BME, more departments and research groups are involved in knowledge of manufacturing systems and design. The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (DMSE) is responsible for the educational and research activities in the fields of different manufacturing technologies, such as metal forming, welding, additive manufacturing. The staff has great experiences in the education of these related topics, and they have all-around R&D collaborations with industrial partners. The essence of technology (that is the science of industrial work by the 100 years old definition of professor Rejtő) includes the knowledge of logistics, the teaching and research of which is an important educational and research field not only for the BME DMSE but also for the Department of Economics and the Department of Logistic Systems. University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria

Being one of the strongest universities of applied sciences in terms of research in the German-speaking world, the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria (FH OOE) is a leader in its field. It offers 68 internationally recognized academic degree programmes in four faculties at four campuses: Informatics, Communication & Media (Hagenberg), Medical Engineering & Applied Social Sciences (Linz), Business & Management (Steyr), and Engineering (Wels) with approximately 5.800 students. Arilog

ARILOG is a professional non-profit organization promoting best practices in logistics and supply chain, networking and sharing professional information among its members. ARILOG is promoting educational programs within Romanian logistics, manufacturing and transport companies since 2002, being an important liaison between the private companies and universities or/and educational centres. Currently, ARILOG has ~130 members, companies and individuals acting in various fields of logistics and supply chain management. ARLOG is also an active member of the ELA – European Logistics Association and the sole representative for organizing the certification process based on ELA standards. Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore

Founded in 1921, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) is the largest private university in Europe with 12 Faculties, 4 campuses across Italy (Milan, Rome, Piacenza-Cremona and Brescia), 80 specialized research labs, 1293 faculty members, and about 41.000 students of which nearly 3000 are international students. Research activity draws on 1349 tenured researchers, 41 institutes, 27 departments, 134 research centres, 5 university centres, 10 research areas and 7 spin-offs and is aimed towards the study and understanding of crucial issues of life and society: new frontiers in economics and bioethics, changes in the field of law, family and cultural trends, mass media, changes in political systems, aims and goals of medicine, technological applications of mathematics and physics, and the most recent discoveries in environmental research.
